Last year today, we lost Owen Turner, a student who was a friend to everyone he met.
Thank you to Gibson Memorial of Sioux Falls and Patrick Henry Student Council for helping us honor all of the students we have lost. Also, thank you to Karyn Veenis for maintaining the garden and creating the space where Owen can always be a part of our school.

Mr. Bakken visited 6th grade orchestra today! He is the composer of Big Foot, which we will play at our District Orchestra Festival on November 8th at the Arena. The concert will feature over 1,000 orchestra students from all of the SFSD middle and high schools!

Today, the City of Sioux Falls and Sioux Area Metro pulled up at Roosevelt High School to explain the public transit "Kids Ride Free Initiative." As the city works to increase ridership and build future transit users, children can ride SAM buses with a School ID/Freedom Pass.

School drop-offs and pick-ups can be messy! Take your time, stay alert, and obey the rules of the road. A safe and orderly process makes the day start and end on a positive note for both students and parents!
So you think you can dance?
This is our first year offering performance dance for 7th and 8th graders at the middle school level! We will be learning different styles of dance: hip hop, jazz, and pom. There will be a few performances throughout the season. Practice starts afterschool on Monday.
