Three students wearing tye dye Camp Postcard t-shirts stand next to a Police Officer
A few of our Patrick Henry students had the opportunity to participate in Camp Postcard with Resource Officer Drummund.

See below for information posted by the Sioux Falls Police Department.

“Today is an incredible day for our police department and the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office as after three years of planning with the Volunteers of America, Dakotas, Camp POSTCARD (Peace Officers Striving To Create and Reinforce Dreams) has come to fruition at Camp NeSoDak at Lake Enemy Swim, SD.  This is the first time that this camp has ever been offered in eastern South Dakota.

This week about 15-20 members of Sioux Falls Police Department and MCSO, along with support staff from VOA Dakotas, will be attending a summer camp with about 40 students (6th and 7th graders) from within Sioux Falls and the surrounding area, having fun, building relationships, and learning life skills.  A majority of those in attendance have never been to a summer camp before, nor ever been camping.  Camp started today and goes till Friday.

It is only through both the vocal and financial support of our community that awesome things like this are possible to continually put our area law enforcement and partner community organizations at the forefront of community policing and building relationships with the youth of our community.”
