'Twas the week before Winter Break! Excitement always fills the air as students anticipate the Holidays. We are looking forward to basketball games, dress-up days and fun in our classrooms as we wrap up learning before the break.

Our awesome Student Council recently paid a local artist (DJ McCullough Art) to create a mural of "influential faces" to brighten our hallway and spark conversations about who is on the mural and why. Thank you PHMS Student Council!!

Team 7-3 students recently competed in an essay contest celebrating Human Rights Day. The day, honored each December 10, marks the anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. The focus for this year’s essay contest was on the Human Right to Seek a Safe Place to Live. Dylan Xian and Lahah Ung were among the Top 3 winners from our area for the Human Rights Day Writing Contest!

Our "Patrick Henry Cares" fundraiser is dedicated to supporting students in need during the festive season. Each year we assemble raffle baskets with a variety of gift cards and experiences. These baskets are raffled off to teachers to help raise funds that go to items our PHMS students may need. This year we are opening up two raffle baskets for parents/guardians to participate in the fundraising event. Winners will be contacted on Wednesday, December 18th. Siouxland Libraries has started their Winter Reading Program. Students can pick up a Bingo card from PHMS library or there is an online version through the Siouxland Libraries ReadSquared App. Happy Winter reading!

The Special Education Team at Patrick Henry is committed to supporting, enhancing and advancing special education. There is no doubt in our minds that we have the BEST Special Education staff out there and we appreciate all that they do! 💙💛💙
Curious what the Patrick Henry Staff like to do for fun? How about plan and execute "Underground Dress-Up Week!" Staff planned secret dress-up days to see if admin and students would notice. We did our best to let them think it was all just a coincidence! It was fun to hear comments from students once they started to figure out the theme for each day!
357 pairs of pajamas were donated during the November Pajama Drive! Scholastic will also match the donation with 357 books. Way to make a difference Patrick Henry!
Last week, Teams 6-1 and 6-2 celebrated students that have made it to class on time every day this year with a pizza lunch and students with top notch behavior enjoyed a celebration in the gym! Good Work 6-1 and 6-2!
